When people talk about the future, they make predictions as to where they're going to be; where they see themselves down the line from the present. On a personal level, it's hard for me to say where things will go, five years down the line as I go through Sowela. But, with what I know now, I'm hoping to expand my eventual internship at the height of my Sowela course into a full-time job, five years from now. Maybe one day in the future, I'll actually become part of a high-scale Cyber Security firm or organization; seeing as the need for Cyber Security has become incresingly in demand in our modern world - even more so, when the threat of identity theft is so rampant in various parts of the world. Maybe at one point, I'll even be working with a team to develop an advanced Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), with an automation system that's powered by a machine-learning AI assistant. And, with the number of programming languages I've experienced over the years, I could even code it by one of several means:
- Java
- C++
- C#
- Python
- SQL
It's difficult to say that with certainty, of course. While AI has become an increasingly prevalent tool in today's world, there is an entirely different world of flaws in how it works, and it's anything but perfect. Not to mention, the number of stories I see online, where other likeminded programmers have been passed up; despite having all the major credentials they'd need for the job, with the only real obstacle being that many Entry-level jobs require someone to have a certain number of years of prior experience - despite the fact that most interns usually come out barely having any more than one or two years of experience. Still, it's along the path I've been following for the past several years, and I expect to keep following it for the next five years or so.
